Your Home Is Where Our Heart Is

A “Shingle Color of the Year” Not To Be Missed

You already know the fashion industry annually announces a “color of the year.”  And every paint manufacturer announces their own color of the year.  But what we’ve been waiting for is Owens Corning’s Shingle Color of the Year! And wow, was it worth the wait!

Cue Music.  And the color is…

Midnight Plum!

We’re telling you, this color is (as Owens Corning says) distinctive and versatile.shingle color of the year It is so stunningly rich and beautiful that we’re ready to go home and tear off our roof and put Midnight Plum on there. We can’t remember a time that the shingle color of the year was more appealing than this.

We can see Midnight Plum blending beautifully with so many colors and textures of siding and trims – from white, tan and creams to deep blues, greys, and charcoals — and even stone and brick exteriors. While Midnight Plum presents as a gray, it sparkles with subtle shades of rich purple with silver undertones.

Midnight Plum is just one of the new colors Owens Corning introduced in its TruDefinition® Duration® shingle line this year. It is joined by Desert Rose, Peppercorn, Sand Castle, and Williamsburg Gray. The new color line reflects emerging trends in home exteriors and customers’ desire to make their home reflect their individuality.

TruDefinition Duration Shingles

TruDefinition Duration shingles provide advanced performance and include the Owens Corning SureNail Technology that makes these shingles tough enough to weather the elements, year-round. Sure Nail nailing zone technology is a patented, unique triple layer of reinforcement in the nailing zone that offers outstanding holding power.

We know this sounds a lot like a commercial for Owens Corning. In fact, we are convinced they are the standard for excellence in roofing materials. We’re proud to be Delaware’s only certified Owens Corning Platinum installers.

You can see all the new colors online here, but we encourage you to stop by one of our two showrooms (Newark, DE and Rehoboth Beach, DE) to see them in person. Frankly the computer screen resolution doesn’t begin to do them justice.

If you’re planning a new roof in 2023, you’re in luck. These new colors are striking, and your home will be a standout on your block.
